The University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Ice Cats won their second College Hockey East Championship in three years as they defeat IUP-II in the best of three series held at Galactic Ice located in Altoona, PA.  The entire series was close, with UPJ winning in three games.

Game One
IUP-II 2 d. UPJ 1

IUP-II started the Championship Series off by winning Game 1, 2-1.  IUP goalie Adam Schmidt (North Catholic High School) stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Indians win.  UPJ started the scoring off with a goal by Chris Grady (Bishop McCort).  IUP tied the score in the first period on a power play goal by Greg Sahene (Penn Hills).   Zack Neubert (Knoch) scored the game winning goal in the 2nd period.

 Game Two
UPJ 7 d. IUP-II 4

In Game 2, another close game was determined in the 3rd period, with UPJ coming out on top 7-4.  With the score tied 3-3 heading into the last frame, Jason Layman (Richland) snuck in a power play goal past Schmidt.  Dave Moliterno (Franklin Regional) scored his third goal of the game five minutes later.  UPJ Goalie Neil Caldwell (Bellwood-Antis) stopped 45 of 49 shots faced.

 Game Three
UPJ 4 d. IUP-II 2

In the third and deciding game, UPJ came out fast, scoring two goals in the first eight minutes.  The lead was too much for IUP to overcome and UPJ won 4-2.  Scott Yingling (Conemaugh Valley) had two goals for the Ice Cats and Caldwellplayed great in goal once again, stopping 33 shots.  Caldwell was named Playoff MVP for his performance in the playoffs, going 5-1, with a save percentage of .926.
